Rats from a sinking ship?

Apparently Livejournal, which is my primary blog (and, sadly, the closest thing to a "social life" that I have,) has fired a bunch of people, and there are panicky rumors it might fold entirely. This may cause me to post more here, and hopefully in that case I'll end up with more of a readership here. We'll see what happens; I have my doubts about whether Livejournal, which is a site with quite a great number of users at least some of whom pay for it and/or buy things from the companies which advertise there, is going to disappear.

It seems Livejournal is down... I'm starting a blog here because of that and other issues. Nothing much to say at the moment, alas. It's freezing outside and I don't much want to go to work tomorrow. Blah blah blah moan kvetch.
